Effective July 21, 2026
First Light is a Christian Scripture, prayer, and focus app. It is built so that your spiritual life stays private: everything you do in First Light is stored only on your device. We operate no servers, and the app sends none of your information to us or to anyone else.
Your spiritual content stays on your device. Your prayers, reflections, journal entries, saved verses, meditation history, streaks, and onboarding answers are written only to your device's local storage and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. If you delete the app, that data is gone; we have no copy.
First Light uses Superwall, a paywall-presentation service, to display and improve our subscription screen. When the paywall is shown, Superwall receives standard device information (such as device model, OS version, app version, locale, and a random app-scoped identifier) and paywall interaction events (such as the paywall being viewed or dismissed). Superwall never receives your prayers, journal, name, or any spiritual content, and this data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. See Superwall's privacy policy.
You may optionally use Sign in with Apple. This links your Apple ID to the app on your device only. We receive nothing on any server, because we have none. You can unlink and erase everything at any time in Profile → Delete account & data, which is a complete deletion — there is no server copy anywhere.
First Light's focus features use Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to quiet apps you choose until your time with God is complete. Apple's design means the app cannot see which apps you select or how you use your phone — those choices are held by iOS in an opaque form and never leave your device.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings, and manage your data rights regarding Apple's processing per Apple's Privacy Policy.
Bible text (World English Bible, public domain) and all meditation content ship inside the app, so reading and meditating requires no internet connection and generates no network activity.
First Light does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app requires no account and stores your content only on your device.
If a future version of First Light ever changes how data is handled (for example, optional cloud backup), we will update this policy first and describe the change plainly inside the app before anything leaves your device.
